Idk why Facebook is making everything so purple but hey I’m not complaining.
I’ve become motivated again to launch the third album in the Balloon Party series. Each album and even their sub-albums have been shaped around personifying the character the album is attributed to. I’m very excited to be spearheading this one, themed around Twilight Sparkle, the studious role model educator, risk-taker, and leader of the six characters.
I will soon be drafting a team of people and personally requesting that they contribute help towards the success of the album.
I had several agenda-based ideas for this album, but I’ve decided to keep the platform on the neutral side of politics. The vision for this album is to have a sound design on the experimental and technique-focused side of composition. The idea is to break your limits and show a new possibility with music. Pioneer a sound nobody has ever thought of, before, and aim to demonstrate proficiency in theory and/or production value however you see fit. You want to stand on the shoulders of giants as best as you can.
It becomes more challenging when we also mention that we are looking for education. If you remember in the year 2012, SGAP and I were able to create a montage of funk and hip hop and ambient music, flowery and sweet, but also delving into the processes of discovery and confirmation.
This album may require you to venture into your mind and process deep thought regarding what you can teach people, whether that lies in evolution, ethics, mathematics, philosophy, the arts, it goes on and on. Be prepared to mingle with lots of artists, because not even a mixing expert is going to have the best answer for your project. That will have to come from you.
We are of course encouraging ponies, as always, and no, we are not going to be nitpicky about whether it actually has horses or not. We only ask that you submit your honest work and do your best to build up off of what you’ve learned from your craft, so far.

Oh hello, what’s this?

FINALIZED DEADLINE FOR RAINBLOOD & VOMIT AND RELATED THINGS

Supersaw Hoover here. The deadline is being moved to JUNE 13TH to compensate for R&R’s lateness and to lampoon their time table.  We’re still releasing 10 days after R&R, so that is to say, midnight on the 17th, which is to say, noon on the 18th.  But not CST.  No, that stands for “Circuitfry Standard Time.”  Instead, since I’m making this up, it will be “Supersaw Standard Time.”  Noon SST (being Samoa Standard Time) is 7 PM EST on June 18th.  Or we might release it on the 17th.  Actually, forget all this, it’s going to be a mystery.  What you need to know, though, is that we’re going to be nice.  Even though the real deadline is June 13th, we will accept entries until June 16th.  HOWEVER, those entries will be looked at as-is, might be ignored, might be misplaced, and might be rejected without reason.  No guarantees on things submitted in that late entry window.  So get it in on or before the 13th please!

Supersaw Hoover, out!

GOTTA GO FAST!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Early Call for Music for NEW COMPILATION ALBUM

All right, listen up. Last year, Balloon Party said they would be “THIS HARD”, and then WE SHOWED THEM WHAT HARD REALLY IS!

This year, from what we understand, Rainbow & Rooted (BP’s new project) is supposed to be “fast”. So, it follows that our new project will show them HOW FAST FAST REALLY IS.

Now, here’s the important bit: this means that tracks submitted to this year’s compilation should be AFAP: As Fast As Possible! We’re talking like, 240 BPM as a LOWER BOUND. Over 300 preferred. Speedcore, Brutal Breakcore, Splittercore, Extratone, Rhythmic Noise, Cybergrind—we’re talking some real intense stuff here. Hell, we’ll even accept grindcore and maybe some punk if you think you can make punk fast enough for this album.

The name of the album and logo and all that fun stuff will be revealed when it’s all finalized, as well as the track submission deadline.

Any questions?
